Keli and Yaohua Indicator Compatibility

Keli and Yaohua Indicator Compatibility

Keli and Yaohua are two of the better-known indicator manufacturers — Yaohua now owned by Zemic. In practice their analog truck scale indicators share enough that swapping one brand for the other rarely means rewiring anything. This covers what is actually common between them.

The model ranges

Keli

Floor and bench scales: XK3118T1, XK3118T4

Truck scales: XK3118K2, XK3118K5, XK3118K8, XK3118K9

Yaohua

Floor and bench scales: XK3190-YHT3, XK3190-T6, XK3190-A12, XK3190-A7, XK3190-T7E

Truck scales: XK3190-A1, XK3190-A9, XK3190-D2, XK3190-D10

Same load cell connector

The first and most useful similarity: analog indicators from both makers use a DB9 load cell connector with the same pin assignment.

With a four-core load cell cable, link pin 1 to pin 2 and pin 6 to pin 7.

What this means in practice: replacing a Keli indicator with a Yaohua one — or the other way round — does not require re-soldering the load cell plug.

Same calibration sequence

The second similarity is the calibration routine. The key names differ; the order does not.

1  Enable calibration mode with the switch or button — usually on the back of the indicator.

2  Press CAL or FUNC depending on the model, then enter the passcode.

3  Enter the parameters: Cap, Div, dc, Filt, Motion and the rest.

4  Calibrate the zero point — noLoAd.

5  Calibrate with load — AddLoAd.

6  Exit — automatically, or by pressing Weight. On the A9+p that key also feeds paper.

Always re-enter the maximum capacity

At the capacity step, key the figure in again whether the displayed value looks correct or not. Skipping it because it appears right is a common way to end up with a calibration that will not hold.

Field service note

KALA Technical Notes

This compatibility holds for analog indicators. Digital models are a different matter — there the protocol has to match the cells, and Keli and Yaohua do not interchange freely. Tell us which indicator failed and whether your cells are analog or digital, and we will confirm what will replace it.
